Hi all,
Update as promised. She is still alive and is improving. Gave her asprin on Thursday and Friday and a warm bath last Thursday to remove the poo she had slept in which seemed to help. Got her to eat baked beans from a spoon and Bill Oddie wild bird food. Now eats well and sleeps with the others. I lowered the perches (upset the others as they liked to look out of the window and now cannot). She still hops on one leg but can stand on two now and again. Hoping the leg will come right, but maybe the damage and scars from healing will mean she never recovers proper use. If no pain, then no problem as she will be spoiled.
It is interesting that she was attacked by a buzzard outside the fenced safe area. The others were inside at the time and could not have seen the incident. Even so, if the gate is left open now they don't go out and if they see the buzzard overhead - it sometimes perches on the powerlines at the back - they come running and 'shouting' to me until I go out and see they're safe. Only then will they follow me into their fenced area. They are clearly aware of the danger, but how did she tell them what happened?
Again many thanks for interest and advice.

maybe they could pick up on her subtle reactions and learnt to react the same way to the presence of the buzzard.

Glad she's coming on so well. Well done for nursing her. :)

Hey, so how is she doing?  I'm in about the same boat.  One of my roosters lost a large patch of feathers and flesh from his back (apparently from a bird attack.)  He was walking fine, but about a week later he won't use his left leg and won't eat or drink unless I bring it to him.  The wound is scabbed over and seems to be healing well.  Anybody have any clue what's wrong with my poor guy?
