Quick question on clubroot
« on: August 02, 2009, 12:00 »
As I only starting cultivating my allotment this year I bought in a lot of brassica plants which i've since learnt is a good way of importing clubroot.  From now on all my plants will be grown from seed.  My question is, would I know by now if clubroot is going to be a problem or is it one of those diseases that lurks about a bit only to raise its ugly head (or root) later.  All sprouts, cabbages and purple sprouting currently look great.

I suspect that the plants would be showing signs of not thriving by now if you had clubroot, but I'll let others with experience confirm the position.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

best way to know if its clubroot is if the leaf turns yellow and the plant stops growing. Also the plants may appear to be filting, like a lack of water. Hope this helps
