I have just been given some 2 week old chicks, I do have some 5 week old chicks already and wondered would they be safe going in together?

Not really, 2 week old chicks need to be kept warmer  than 5 week olds

there in a huge pen with the heat lamps at one end and none at the other end, the five week old ones all stand and play at the end where there is no heat lamp so just wondered if the 2 week old ones would be picked on by the rest?

Not something I have ever done so hard to say, as a rule older birds do tend to pick on newbies so it is a possibility

Hi,
Could you not put the 5 week old chicks outside now (is your weather good).
I would not put them together as you don't know what ailments the new chicks could be carrying, and the older ones could squash the younger ones.
