I have spuds coming up all over my plot. I think a few years ago the whole are was used for potatos.

I don't like them all over the place as I keep weeding them out and then when I'm weeding out my actual potatos I keep accidentally pulling up small shoots.

Its a downer, they're everywhere! Its potato madness.

Jake, the obvious solution is staring right at you....don't plant any spuds at all, just cultivate the ones that come up on their own and eventually they'll all be dug up  ;) :D

Thanks for the advice everyone - Seems half and half between leaving and getting rid of them. As the onions aren't doing so well this year anyway, I guess I had better get rid to give them the best chance. That and the fact that I have more potatoes this year than should have (eyes bigger than belly in the spud shop)

I have random onions growing where I evidently missed some in pulling last year! They're a bit squashed together, but seem fairly happy.

we inherited a very untended plot, and kept coming across potatoes when we were clearing it last year. was nice to get a freebie in return for our hard work!
