RING CULTURE
« on: March 15, 2009, 08:06 »
The recommended  pot size for ring culture tomatoes is (9") I have lots of bottomless pots which i once used for growing horseradish but they are (12"). Would these pots be too big? :unsure:
There is no better show of antisipation than a man sowing seeds in a field.

They'll be fine just use a bit more compost, but you'll save on not buying pots....
swings and roundabouts. ::)
I've just cut some 40L tubs in half  cos they were too big for a tom plant :lol:
You just have to use what you've got don't you :D :D

Thanks for the reply  mumofstig, I just wondered if the tom's do better if the roots are restricted a bit but I don't suppose one or two inches makes a lot of difference!.

I am thinking of giving it ago this year. Hopefully I will have to water less often! I also plan to feed through a home made drip feeder.
