Yup it's still there.  Look out for our new Star of the East,  It's a new structure which is being sighted on Mablethorpe Pullover.  It should really put us on the map like the Wind Turbines have.

Dawn.

P. S.  when is the best time to plant potates?  lol....

Thanks for all he replies and Hi to all the fellow new people  :)

It's great seeing photos of your plots. Will take some of mine this weekend.

Wish I didn't have to work today cos it is lovely and sunny and I want to go down and start now.

Well here I am, 2 weeks and 3 visits into having my first plot.
Didn't do too badly as only 1/2 of the plot needed serious work, the rest had been used for tatties and was covered with a plastic sheet.

Hope to have some photos posted after this weekend if it doesn't get too cold.

It's sunny again today and it's my last day of work before having 2.5 weeks of holiday.... lottie here I come.

Miss Winston says hello...I'm a new spud on the block

Found the site by chance tonight...whilst searching for Carol Klien information.  I was suprised to read so much negative feedback about her and/or the new BBC series.  I've had a plot for about 5 years now but haven't gone near it for 7 months due to having a baby (and actually went into labour whilst digging on the plot).

Anyway, back to Carol...it was watching the programme that gave me the courage to visit the plot and also decide to keep it on.  It got me really excited about growing veg and fruit again.

Regarding comments about her giving wrong advice...I personally have been given so many different and conflicting pieces of advice about how to grow potatoes, beans, carrots etc.  I believe everyone finds their own way of growing veg and fruit and I thinks it's very much down to trial and error...and it's also half the fun...finding what's best for you.

Anyway, this message was really only meant to be a quick hello...have got a bit carried away (see it's all the excitement about getting back to the plot and getting dirty).

Regards,
Miss Winston   :D

the comments wer'nt having a  go at carol klien i personally like her myself but the way the program is coming across as a part gadening cookery program .it is to fractured ( 5 points  ) in its approach to gardening we had 8 mins of actual gardening the rest was pontificating ( extra big werd 20 points  )on how nice it all looked and smelt   the butterflies attacking things and then cooking cabbage as if it was a new style of cooking a new fantastic iplant  , i see the program as interesting to beginners only . i have been allotmenteering ( gardening ) in one form or another for over half my lifetime all over the world .including a time at college studying it .and i still watch the program  for any new info i can glean . perhaps if she took a leaf from percy throwers method of presenting a gardening programme then i and many others would be more happy with it ... :)  and welcome to the gang   miss winston
