Has anybody tried growing grapes, I've just finished my fruit cage & sectioned off a part with bubble wrap to try to grow grapes & tomatoes in, I know the roots of the grapes need to be planted outside the sectioned part & trail the vine inside but thats all i know,  :roll:
chemicals !!! NOT FOR ME THANX!!! unless they have alchohol in them....

That's correct for a sound biggish green house, I'm not sure about bubble wrap as grapes are a big strong vine, which need strong support, once you have that you can work the bubble wrap around at a distance, so the grape does not grow into it and you can prune it.

There are outdoor varieties nowadays, too.

outside varieties are verry hardy and grow like stink the hardest thing is keeping them pruned

Agree, in their natural habitat they climb tall trees.

Mine invaded the garden of the house behind my plot. I've had to cut it severely this winter.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Hiya all
the bubble wrap is making up the walls of a hot house & is surrounding a frame for the grapes to grow up, i will let you know if it works  :lol:
