Complete the sitting out area. Some flags, grass and wild flower borders. Pull an ash tree root out the make fruit bed and cage ready for berry bushes. Repair & treat raised beds. Several bonfires too. 😊

Depending on space and on what you do and don't like you could (possibly) 'hide' the rubble as an alpine bed? (Maybe)  ;)

My winter tasks are quite numerous - rip out my summer raspberries and (possibly) weed fabric and mulch the autumn raspberry bed (possibly moving the autumn rasps. into very large pots - need to work out if this is feasible)

Purchase and install a polytunnel (this will depend on Mrs Balders and the young Balderings clubbing together for a Christmas prezzie that I actually want (for once))

Clear shed to allow installation of shelving and hooks etc.

Install shelving and hooks.

Obtain and install new water barrels and guttering downpipes.

Level one path across plot and repave.

Balders

I will be continuing digging over my weed laden plot and setting out the beds. Also moving the existing compost bins, digging a pond, making a wild flower border, moving a large (rather out of control) Rosemary, making 2 cold frames, making an archway as an entrance to plot, making 3 nest boxes, trim the existing cherry tree and of course keep my nose buried in the seed catalogues!

Ah well, I've lots of projects at least in my head and at planning stage. I will be raising the raised beds by one board and building two new lower beds: one for rhubarb, the other for artichokes. That'll give the asparagus space to grow.
I want to extend the fruit cage and move the gooseberries into it. Also hoping to plant some bare root fruit trees against the fence.
As well as that there's the big flower bed to stock for spring and next year as it was emptied last year and thoroughly de-weeded (ground elder..pah!).
Have got bags of manure from the local stables to dig into the veg beds.
Then there's the seedlings to start off in the new greenhouse.
And the garage to re-organise (again)
Oh and I'm hoping to get the old windows replaced with double glazed sash & case..
There will be more I've forgotten about but that'll keep me going for now.

I have loads to do! Try and finally clear the paths of creeping buttercup, clear the last jungle area and install a wonder wall, dig up the strawberry bed, refresh the soil and plant new runners plus keep digging over the beds to improve the structure of the soil

Sounds like everyone is on the same page at this time of year, all doing lots of cleaning and de weeding and sorting the sheds out, which reminds me that I've got to clear mine out    I've spent the day making a path in and around the plot with landscaping bark. Has anyone ever had any problems using this in the past? I've had a thew thoughts on what to do with the rubble which is to dig a rather large hole and use it as a foundation for a raised sitting area. I thought it would be nice to have it set under the fruit trees, especially in the spring with the blossom :) I did have a think of the alpine rockery, deffinatley would have made a nice feature. Would be great to see some photos of people's hard work over the next thew months. I will deffinatley be uploading some of mine very soon :)

Steve

Start a Diary on here and keep a record - I have a whole new adventure playground of mud (Second Allotment) to play with over the winter (weather permitting)

I want to get one more bed set up and finished on my main plot. As many empty beds as possible will be manured and covered in cardboard sheets for winter. Plus all the paths need topping up with some decent woodchip when we get it on site.

More interesting projects for me are: taking gooseberry & currant cuttings so I can start my project to grow standards, taking cuttings from my Vranja quince as that doesn't need to be grown on rootstock and trying some fruit tree grafting.

Plus planning next year will take a good few happy months - particularly as I will be trying to cram in as much as possible from the Seed Circle.
