In the past I've always ordered plants etc from big firms like T&M. Dobies, Marshalls who sent the plants at the right time of year when they were ready for planting. Just before Christmas I ordered some asparagus and rhubarb plants from a specialist nursery, thinking they would send them at Sringtime. I was a bit shocked to receive an email saying they had been posted. When I emailed them they said I was supposed to have stated when I wanted them delivered when I ordered them.
Well, you live and learn!!
I now have 10 asparagus plants and two rhubarb plants waiting to be dealt with. I'm going to put them in a containers and cover them with compost (sort of heeling them in) and just hope they are ok until March.
