Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Well after almost a month of no rain I eventually gave in and bought a sprinkler, and replumbed my hose (which meant moving it from the garage to the laundry room.

Of course the day after I used the sprinkler for the first time we got wet weather  ::)  It rained on and off all Easter weekend, but it really is only the top inch of soil which is wet, and deeper and you are still dry.

Still, it looks much betterm esepcaily since the onions, garlic, shallots and potatoes are sprouting well, so having a flash of green across the brown looks nice.

We has rain Sunday evening and last night - so I'm good for rain for the moment thanks!

However I was surprised that I had already emptied one of my waterbuts watering my plants/plugs coldframe bits!

If it doesn't rain today it will be a hosepipe job this evening. Again.

I think it's on its way up to you from here, Christine  ;)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

We had serious rain on Sunday and then some more today. At present there are still flooded fields round here so not sure if the farmers will be praying for more rain. I reckon our ground water level must still be pretty high even if it stops raining.

Cheers HH
Keep digging

We are near to you, we had heavy rain Sunday, a massive downpour about 5.15 yesterday (was laughing, as my work colleagues were just leaving work  :D )

Been a bit of drizzle today, but no heavy downpours that I heard. (I work in a horrid place with no daylight).  :(

It rained enough to lay the dust on Tuesday but not enough to water any great depth. The forecast for today from the met office says:
"Cloudy and misty with extensive hill fog. Occasional rain this morning will become more persistent this afternoon and heavy at times, especially over higher ground. It will feel chilly in the brisk easterly breeze. Maximum Temperature 11 °C."

I'll give it chilly and agree with the fog. It would be nice to have the persistent and heavy rain for the rest of the day and overnight. It would actually do the ground some good. Mind you, there's an allotment inspection tomorrow and I have no doubt that all the weeding I did so thoroughly yesterday will be undone again
