It was suggested (politely) to me on here that it was daft to plant tomatoes on the same bed as potatoes because if one gets blight the other will surely get it.

and now here's a company doing exactly that and expecting people to pay dearly for the privilege!

so - daft! in my opinion.

There was a recent thread on this.
My thoughts were that it was a total rip off, and very much a gimmick. It's unlikely that the potatoes will be ready at the same time as all the toms are ripe, so you either pull up the potatoes and ruin your tom plant, or leave the potatoes in the soil and keep watering them, long after the plant would naturally have died off.

I know this thread stopped a while ago but ...

Aren't potato fruits poisonous? So if some bright spark eats the fruit of a potato thinking its one of these, will T&M have a responsibility?

The fruit of potatoes don't turn red/yellow. If you want to eat green tomatoes, you're asking for it!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I do agree a little here as there is always someone and some humans can be very naive

Note the tomatoes are diced in that recipe.

It should become immediately apparent that what they've diced is not a tomato, it looks nothing like inside. I rather think imaginations are running away a little here.

My comment was made tongue in cheek, but in our modern blaming society, I'm sure somebody in the not too distant future will blame T&M.

By the way, there are plenty of green tomatoes out there that stay green when ripe and taste wonderful.
