One I tried, was cut off the bottom quarter of a large pop bottle, turn it upside down so the pointy base looks like ears, paint some eyes on the side with white paint or correction fluid and put it down where the cats like to scrape, and it seemed to work for a while.

Last time I visited my Father in law he had Tangerine peel scattered on his lawn. It was'nt to feed the birds but  so he says keeps the cats from dumping.

I did try it for foxes but all it did was turn my poor rabbit into a bundle of nerves lol. Still had foxes.

And at least cats have the good grace to bury it most of the time. I love cats and the mines were the "nicest" way I found of putting them off
Motherhood - when being spontaneous takes 2 and a half days of careful planning

thing is, cats dont know you have planted stuff, they dont know where to c rap and where not to c rap, so you cant blame them, they are just doing what nature intended, they dont know it is wrong, so whatever you try, keep it HUMANE!

My cat knows EXACTLY where to c rap. Its called his litter box.
I just wish next doors 5 cats were litter trained too, but alas - not all pet owners are responsible :(

Yup, mine has a litter tray too, she only uses one spot in the garden tho, and everyday i clear it up. Thank goodness for Asda bags.

The other thing you can try is some of that expandable trellis, i place it flat over the earth or seedlings and leave it there, the cats dont dig in that area, it works a treat and by the time the veg has grown, you cannot see the trellis, it is very cheap (poundland or wilco sells it) and you can use it over and over again.  That has always worked perfect for me, and it is completely safe!

Now that might be an idea for Lottie to keep the rabbits off  8)
