I've always had great success with Kelvedon Wonder and have successionally sowed  6  6 foot rows.  My first row, planted in troughings under clotches and transplanted have been covered in flowers but are only about 8" high and are now dying off with very few tiny pea pods.  The rest planted in situ are very very slow.  Only thing I've done differently this year is not to lime the ground heavily prior to planting (as I couldn't get any garden lime locally).  Aside from this, any guesses as to what could be my problem?  Many thanks in advance.  SL

Its defintely a puzzle    Did you add nitrogen to the soil or fed them with it?

Nope, nothing except a bit of well rotted compost last autumn, and a sprinkling of blood, fish and bone early spring.  Still, my cabbages all died last summer, and this year they're looking fine - you win some, you lose some I guess.
