Maybe you'd like to carry on this thread if anyone has any strawberry sowing pictures or updates or any advice really.

I just sowed some Thompson and morgan sarian f1 tonight. It is the first time I have tried strawberrys from seed so I am a little fingers crossed at this point. I have started them out in paper pots and sealed them in polythene bags to keep the warm in (clear so that light can get through). Fingers crossed! :D

Very exciting duracell  :) I have 1pkt of florian and 1pkt of sarian but I'll wait until early/mid Feb.I'll update you with some pics when I sow them. I presume they are indoors Duracell ? And are they in  a heated propagator ?

As mentioned in another thread I was going to order some strawberry seeds then saw some in the pound shop so I have stuck them in the freezer as it said and will sow them in a week or so.

Will keep you updated.

Yep indoors in a propagator but not a heated one. I dont have a greenhouse and no hope of buying one in the foreseeable. I am starting some more off towards the end of feb as well to see which works best for me.

As soon as they are through open the vents on the propagator a little, increase each day over 3-4 days until they are fully open then start raising the lid for a day or two the lid off or take them out, transplant into 3" pots when you have 2 proper leaves. Make sure they get good even light DD. will pop up with a tin foil reminder in a minute. I use juice cartons cut open and turned shiny side to the seedlings  :D

About mid April start putting them out side in the day to harden them off  :D

Edited to add...... Never mind I have got it! Cereal box sticky tape and tin foil Daa Daa!

I wish I had a dad/Grandad/grandma type who could have told me that a few years ago
