Morning...

i have  7 x 11 weeks old chicks and the 1's i thought where cockerels where doing the mating dance (crouching)   when we picked them up just like the big hens, so does this mean they are hens or do both sexs do it

please help as i would love to keep the splash cochins as they are so pretty, 1 is almost white with a few bits of blue and the other is more blue with whits mixed in..
as for the others(araucana's ) just ran from us

they could just be a little bit scared - they seem a bit young to be doing the crouching for mating bit - do they also stamp on the ground at the same time?

I agree witn joyfull. Im sure they crouch to try and make themselves become invisible. Monty does it all the time when he thinks Im going to pick him up!
