Hello all

I am currently working on a television programme called Mr Bloom's nursery. This show is aimed at young children and is shown on Cbeebies. The aim is to educate and encourage children to learn and enjoy growing vegetables and plants.  We have just received the new scripts (quite late) and I am therefore trying to contact growers in the Manchester / Stockport area to source the following mature plants that we may be able to transport into our set and use for filming.
Purple carrots - cosmic?
purple potatoes
large parsnips & beetroot
yellow tomatoes
and raddish
If you think you may be able to help or can put me in touch with anyone who can it would be great to hear from you.
Many thanks,
Kind regards

Gavin Lewis - Art Director, Mr Bloom's Nursery.

Hi,
Apart from radishes which can be ready to harvest from seed in about 4 weeks, the rest of the items you are looking for won't really be suitable for transplanting I would think.  Tomatoes you may be ok with if they are in pots.

Potatoes, carrots & parsnips need to grow and stay in the area they will be harvested from.

Sadly we're too far away from you, but just wanted to say that my 3 year old LOVES Mr Bloom's Nursery, and I'm 100% encouraging that! Hopefully he'll be able to help me up at the allotment soon as a result (whilst singing 'Meet the Veggies'...!)

Sorry I cannot help with any of your queries, but I am sitting here singing the theme tune as my three little ones at home do, keep up the good work, we love it!

Sorry I'm too far away to be of any help. My children also love the programme. My 3yo daughter insists on whispering 'good night veggies' to the raised beds each evening.  ::)

I have just edited the thread title to try to catch people's attention a bit more, hope you don't mind Mr Lewis.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Gavin, have you contacted the Assoc of Manchester Allotment Societies? If not, the Chair is also chair of our site and lives at the end of my road...
