This has probably been discussed before, so i'll apologise in advance.

We were having a look through John's photo gallery earlier today and he showed a pic of his greenouse where he had marigold's planted beside his tomatoes, I can't remember what the benefits of this are.  Are there any other planting combinations that I should know about?

Thanx for reading  :)

I grow spring onion seed with carrots and nigella (Love in a mist) which is pretty and helps repel carrot fly

It looks unorthodox so if you're a straight rows of veg typa person you won't like it

I grow flowers with all my veg to attract hoverflies which devour aphids

I have a companion planting chart which I got from the Organic Gardening Catalogue

I don't worry too much about such things. After the carrots and onions get harvested I'll follow on with a different crop

I've yet to discover if i'm a straight rows kinda gal but I think i'll be able to overcome that, I love Nigella too.

I grow sweet peas with the runner beans to help encourage polinnating insects - not sure if it works but they looks and smells nice.
