Rainwater
« on: May 21, 2010, 18:02 »
Hi Everyone,
Due to the long dry spell we have been having I have run out of rainwater which I use to water my Blueberries and Kiwi plants. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can use instead of rainwater as I'm unable to use normal water as this will harm the plants.
Thanks

If you add vinegar to tap water this does the trick but I'm not sure of the amounts, I think it may be 2 tablespoons to a litre of water but not sure - you could try googling it and see if that throws anything up

Gardening is often not about achieving perfection but doing the "least worst" thing in any given situation because there is only so much you actually have control over!

Don't know anything about Kiwi plants but I do know that blueberries don't like to be short of water which for them is probably a worse problem than coping with being occasionally watered with possibly slightly alkaline water.

Practising a rain dance would also be beneficial to both your blueberries and the likes of me!  ;)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

Mum adds a drop of tea to her tap water if she runs out of rainwater :)
Seems logical!
