hello all i just wanted to know if it would be ok to plant my iceberg lettuce seedlings out side if they were protected by a cloche. i planted the seeds on the 8TH of march and they are now about 8 inches tall i have potted some on but i ran out of pots and just wondered if they would be ok in the ground or is it still to early for them all advise welcome and thanks in advance
need all the help i can get and not just with my allotment

I'd get them out before they get too weak and leggy. Looked at the forecast for next 5 days in your area - no frosts predicted, but it's going to be cool, so make use of those cloches!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

the weather is so unpredictable at the moment its really difficult to say but its certainly worth trying them under cloches it sounds like they are very leggy if they are 8 inches high so i dont know how well they will do
Everyone should grow their own veg and know where their food is coming from even if it is only a one pot on a patio or balcony Grow Something!!

I don't think I would bother with them. Sow a new lot.

hi tohellwithweeds, just wondered if you are on an allotment plot in lincoln, i grew up in lincoln and my grandad and dad had plots where the hospital now is and then my dad had on off boultham park road

hi lucywil yes i am in lincoln and my lotty is on hall drive off boultham park road its called the boultham park site because we are nearer to the park then the hall drive site which is on boultham park road confused yes so was i :?  :?
