I'm actually doing One Ball this year, because according to RHS they're better on mildew than Summer Ball. Some seed suppliers say that One Ball and Floridor is the same variety, but some say they're different. Either way, I don't think there's a lot of difference between One Ball, Floridor, Summer Ball, they're all much the same.

I do agree about the taste though. Last year my courgettes were a complete disaster, a first for me, presumably because of the awful weather conditions. But the year before I grew Summer Ball and it's the first time I've ever enjoyed eating courgette raw. It's more like a fruit than a veg, really sweet but clean taste to them.

We grew Atena (F1) which are the usual long shape. Nice thin skins and an excellent flavour  :D

I like Jemmer too. They're big!  :)

I grow green uns as well!  I like the pale green Genovese which is more open and less prickly

I've grown parador for the last two years with excellent results, very reliable and high yielding.  The taste is very nice, kind of creamy if that makes sense.

I grew "Soliel" - excellent flavour and rampant productivity until first frosts. RHS Merit.
I also grew "Yellow Crookneck" - less productive but an even better flavour.

My favourite is Orelia, not so easy to get last couple of years, only Dobies seem to have it.
I always grow them mixed and no problem. However, last year I had trouble with some little pesky criters  attacking them. Thought it was an insect although never saw it. On researching, I discovered it was probably fruit flies laying their eggs under the skin. Actually the green ones suffered much worse than the yellow. It made some of them grow banana shaped, and on the inside of the bend there was a hole.
