Stupid question, Put some potatoes in last weekend of diffrent varietys, just wonderd how long they take to start showing on the ground. im not being impatient, just curious.  :lol:

Well i would say not long now i 2 weeks as a rule . But with wet warmish
 weather could be quicker.

cheers for the advice, i was hoe'ing the bed today were i planted them, and i think some were showing but i didnt want to dig them up by mistake, will have to wait and see

2 to 3 weeks?

Depends, or so I have read, on how advanced the shoots on your seed potatoes were when you planted.

And then, or so I understand, on the quality of the soil they are planted in.

The latter is something I've been amazed about, as I did an experiment where I planted in well tended, composted soil and also shoved a few in untreated soil. Needless to say, the potato plants in the good soil are twice the size and twice as healthy.
