Carrots
« on: August 10, 2007, 16:06 »
Just dug up some carrots for first harvest. They are a nice size but they are not straight they have 2 or more roots or are twisted. thet taste nice but my question is why are the not straight like normal?

Thanks

Yes I agree but these were grown in a dustbin.

Forking can be caused by manuring and/or stony ground

They can become twisted if they are not thinned out early enough.

as above .dig the ground deeply  sieve the ground for large stones and use ground that manured this year for next years crop mix sharp sand and peat into the soil where your going to sow and i gauranteee you will have straight ones ,
