frost next week?
« on: April 27, 2011, 09:39 »
i expect many of you are itching to get those overrsized plants out in the garden like me.  However looking at the Acuweather site it looks as if  a ground (or grass as it now seems to be called) fost is likely in most areas in the middle of next week.  Could be devestating if you put the wrong things out too early - just a throught.

we have one forecast for tomorrow night.

I agree, so it really is important to keep a daily eye on the forecasts at this time of year.

frost is now forecast for tonight :( so I've covered everything with fleece or poly, and even brought the tender stuff in from the greenhouse. The temp inside was already down to 10  and I don't want to lose anything!

In still conditions an air temperature of under about  +4C  is low enough to produce a ground frost, especially in vulnerable areas.  :)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

Latest info suggests there won't be any late frosts in the SW this month so may be Ok to plant things out at your own risk. Do your own research first! Good luck and apologies for any alarm caused.
