Hello Everyone
This is my first post. I have just started a home allotment. It is work in progress but am hoping it will go well.
I have been given some raspberry canes but we do not know if they are summer or autumn fruiting. They are approx 50cm tall and are starting to bud. Is there any way I could tell what season they will fruit. I am aware that different seasons require different pruning.

To be honest, I'd just let them grow this year, and then prune them according to when they eventually fruit.

Do autumn and summer fruiting varieties throw up new canes at about the same time?

I can't remember/work out whether one of my rows is autumn or summer fruiting and I wondered if this could be a way to distinguish?

Is anyone's summer varieties starting to show signs of new canes emerging?
