How to support tomatoes in buckets
« on: May 07, 2012, 16:06 »
Can anybody tell me what is the best way to support tomatoes in buckets.  I want to place individual buckets around my garden and will need to give each bucket it's own support system.

Is there something I can make which is sturdy enough from canes and string rather than purchase something ready made?
Happy Gardening.

You could pinch out the top of the plant once it reaches a certain height, to stop it getting too top heavy. Also reduce the foliage by about half which I find helps keep the air circulating and allows the sun to reach the ripening fruit.
