Another manure question
« on: May 11, 2010, 21:30 »
I was getting a bed ready for my sweetcorn today and it was my intention to put as much well rotted manure as possible into the soil. Then i recieved the advice that "its a bit iffy putting manure in this late"(i intend to plant out the sweetcorn in about 2 weeks).
  Is it too late ?
Oh yeah, ill probably put courgettes&maybe some tomatoes in the same bed.
Should i do this or not?(nothings been grown in this soil for a few years )
  Cheers

If it's well rotted, there shouldn't be a problem.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Sweetcorn and courgettes are hungry plants and will be better off with it than without it!

(Get it mixed in as best you can and maybe water it as well if it is dry to help get it incorporated into the soil before you plant things into it.)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older
