Hi have just found this site and think you might be the answer to my prayers. Have kept hens now for approx 12 months. Have 4 hybrids and 2 Rhode Island reds along with Colin the cockrel who is is also a red. About 4 weeks ago got the dreaded red mite which I seem to have under control at present however both my reds are losing feathers and one of them today look really under the weather. i've seperated her don't know if its too much interest from Colin can anyone help pleaseeee.

Probably just their first moult going by their age and the time of year.

Ok didn't know they did that thanks alot. i'm learning all the time

She's probably just moulting, a couple of mine are at the moment and they look really threadbare (and the garden looks like I've been having pillow fights in it). They will grow back quickly but I would probably put her back in with the others.
