Dinner Party!
« on: March 07, 2009, 11:03 »
Got some friends coming over for dinner in a few weeks, (quite well off friends) which i'm really looking forward too.  Only thing is we dont have a tonne of money to spend on food at the mo.  So I was thinking of doing an indian banquet kind of thing!

A roast tandori chicken with loads of starter type snacks a  vegi curry sauce and some dips and chappatis.

Would you be horrified if you turned up to dinner and got that?

It will prob work out at half the price of steak or the like and with although a bit more effort I thought it might be fun!  What do you think?
We all have wings but some of us don't know why.

Make sure your guests like spicy foods and go for it.  Pilau rice is easy to make and so are vegetarian side dishes.  I really appreciate it when someone takes time and effort rather than buys in expensive luxuries.
Cheese makes everything better.

Not at all, in fact I'd be really happy to have that. Not only is it really tasty food, if you do it from scratch you can appreciate the effort thats gone into it... I've often cooked Indian for dinner parties and it goes down a treat.

It also means your not stood in the kitchen cooking when they are there...I'll come over if they don't want to... ;)
