when left they go bright red and reach just over an inch, we had the smallest piece of one today and oh my goodness hot is not the word.

I dont drink milk but downed half a pint and then hubby gave me that look as I laughed at him when he said it was burning his tongue

They look a little small to be a Jal.

Probably one of the modern ornamental types, other than hot was there a flavour to them?

I grew Jalapenos last year and they were bigger than that.

Congratulations on growing a chili with some heat, a few of us are having problems with that.
Cheese makes everything better.

I have this pepper as well.  We have grown in indoors and it flowers each year.  They are delicious.  :)  Make some chilli oil as they tempers the heat a bit.

... that could be any of a dozen or more chillies ... prairie fire could be an option.  Especially if it's rather spicier than you thought.

Did you buy the plant or plants seeds??

There has been an article in the news today of a guy that has just died from eating chillies so be warned!  :)
