Octagon 10 incubator
« on: May 01, 2009, 16:43 »
I was given an Octagon 10 basic model incubator which I have 10 Orpington eggs in.
All I seem to be hearing is that they are rubbish and the worse incubator ever produced so Is there anyone out there that has a good word to say about and if so did you have a good success rate with their hatching eggs.

Thanks

I have an octagon 10 and have found it a good basic incubator.
1st hatch of 6 orpington eggs - 1 hatch
2nd hatch 6 orpington eggs - 4 hatched
3 hatch 6 cream legbar eggs - 5 hatch
4 hatch 3 wyandotte eggs 1 hatch
5 hatch 6 wyandotte hatch 0 hatch

The 6th hatch is in there now, 5 gold lace orps and 5 silver laced wyandottes.

If the eggs candled with an embryo ay 3 - 5 days, they went full term.  Ones that didn't hatch were clear to start with.
