Moving Current Bushes
« on: November 06, 2007, 20:48 »
I have moved plots and have some red current, black current, and gooseberry bushes and want to move them to my new plot.

When is the best time of year to do this and how much should I prune off after I move them.

I'd move them as soon as they have dropped their leaves ( about now ) while the soils still warm. Prune back hardish to 5-6 buds a stem try to get as much root ball etc.

I use the opportunity to take cuttings from my prunings and increase my stock.
