Well I did - last year - they didn't germinate so I forgot about them. 

I sowed them in a trough and didn't manage to keep it well enough watered.  This year I sowed love-in-a-mist seeds and I thought that was what had come up (don't tell me the foliage is different - I've never grown love-in-a-mist before).  And then I realised I could see the base of a carrot! 

Pulled it out - best carrot I've ever grown!  6 inches long!  sorry no piccie already eaten it.

Guess I'll get the love-in-a-mist next year

This always makes me smile.  We try so hard with our veg, giving it the right conditions and looking after it and then nature comes along and sticks two fingers up at us and basically says I can do it better without you thanks!

We've got tomato plants coming up everywhere and the odd carrot dotted about the plot.It's not been used for 15 years so I dunno where they are coming from.

We've got random wild strawberries popping up along the side of our garden. I'm not complaining mind!

I sowed a free packet of poppies - I know it was deffo poppy seeds, but now have a nice, but very late spread of tomatoes!!

Yup I have tomatoes and butternuts galore from the compost I diligently made. Only problem is they are in my tiny London garden and not on the plot. 

Oh and the Morning Glories - must have picked out 300 by now. Still I managed to pot some of them on and flog them at Eccleston Square's Open garden day for charity . But  I'll never grow Morning Glory again in the garden!!!!!
