Yet another Question re colour of droppings
« on: February 05, 2014, 11:01 »
Hi again  if you have read my posts you will know I have a few problems this last 6 mths losing POL chickens.  After treatment from the Vet, touch wood, I haven't lost anymore , however I noticed yesterday my Copper French Marans (one of the original birds I bought) had a fluorescent yellow stripe in the feathers near her vent.  I  immediately isolated her, after cleaning her up. Today when I let them all out I went to check her and she had the stripe again but checking her droppings they seemed normal. Can anyone offer advice?  Many thanks in advance.

Update...think it might still be the Histamonas so treating her with the medicine the Vet gave me and hope I have caught it in time. :(

first of all, it could well be.
Remove all the hens from that area and sterlise the ground.

Was not to be, lost her & the last of my black Spanish White Faced but, touchwood, no more since. My shed is like a field hospital, I m sterilising everything  and cleaning coops on a daily basis which gives me the chance to check droppings as this foul weather has turned my field into a swamp (thinking of changing my name to Shrek). I have split them into 3 groups so I can monitor things better.  Just have to wait & see & let nature take its course.  Thanks again grinling

So sorry Prod. No one can say you have not tried and are continuing to try your very best. It must be disheartening but try and keep the faith, it will be worth it in the end  :)
