Well after we got our 4 chooks and started getting eggs it was great. Egg production never really took off the way we thought it would, 2 or sometimes 1 a day from the group, but it was enough for us and we had some left over to give away.

Then we discovered lice! And after getting some advice on here treated with Johnstons Lice treatment, lice cleared.

Then we took one to the vet as a coupla had snotty noses. We where given anti-biotics to treat all 4. Completed that about a week and a half ago and the beaks are a lot cleaner now and the birds seem cleaner.

We are still not able to eat the eggs yet, and what a scunner as now we are getting 4 eggs a day, and a couple of days we have had 5!!! Fantastic!!! It's heartbreaking, our 4 wee chooks are really starting to lay now and we have to bin all the rewards from their hard efforts!!!


Roll on next week when we can start eating the eggs again, and I think now we will be having a few more to give to family and friends!!
