Sorry Bodger, but must stick up for Marans

I have 3 Marans running with 1 cock and i'm getting 3 eggs every 2 days, Marans are known not to be great layers but they make up for that with quality of eggs.

I have 15 Light Sussex running with 3 cocks and getting between 6 and 12 eggs aday,



All the chucks were hatched in April 08, and are great birds

Thanks for the info, everyone.  I haven't noticed any change in their combs/wattles, but I will give their pelvises a check when I get them up this morning.  My guess is it's the cold here... still well below freezing at night here.
