Hi All

I have left this plant untouched when I was weeding last time, because I was not sure whether it was a worthy plant or a weed. It looks like a perennial, and its stems are getting thicker and thicker like some sort of a woody plant.

Anyway, it has grown so much since I saw it last time, I took a few photos this afternoon, and I am attaching to this message. I have tried internet and garden books and everywhere, but haven't got a clue. Sorry but I am a newbie.

It looks like some kind of currant to me.  Does it smell when you brush against it?

I am not sure. I have not tried to smell it. But wee leaves are shooting out all around it in the soil. Looks like soon they will cover the area.

WOW !! Thank you. If it is Raspberry, I am glad that I have not cut them off.

They seem to thrive in this wet & cold weather, growing so well, until today I was convinced they were weeds.  All other plants in my back garden have lost their liveliness since last month's heavy rain and frost now, and most of them look so dull and dark, but this one is in its glory pushing new leaves everywhere in the soil.

Now, I am going to take out my books and read about them.

Yep.  The second  photo convinces me that it is a raspberry.  However if it is growing so well, it could make a bid to take you over!

Definitely Raspberry, and you will shortly find it IS a weed.
