Virgin Plot!

Hi,
HELP!!!
I have just obtained a plot approx 100' x 25' which has not been in use for a while and is somewhat overgrown!!
What is my best plan of attack to prepare the ground??
Once prepared (hopefully end of April) any suggestions on easy veg to start with??

Easy veg? For starters..
Lettuce/salad leaves
Peas
Runner and french beans
Spuds
Parsnips
Carrots
Beetroot

Congratulations on getting a new plot.  I would suggest that you aim to clear a bit then plant that bit before moving onto clearing the next bit.  Really keeps you motivated to see things growing rather than clearing the whole thing at once which can be a bit daunting.
