My azada came from here,  http://www.get-digging.co.uk/tools.htm

OK it's not cheap, but without doubt it is the best and most used tool at my lottie.
I got 2 different sizes from there, they are excellent and if you put a fair bit of effort in you can really dig a reasonable area quickly, as the swing digs the blade in then you just use the handle to lever the clod up - great for bramble roots too.

Spot on, quality and cheaper than the rubbish one on ebay

http://www.chillingtontoolsonline.co.uk/set-of-3-small-digging-hoes-p66

That is unbelieveably good value for money, even with the £4.50 delivery. Too good to resist, an early birthday present to myself for two weeks time. :)
I`m left handed, what`s your excuse?

Looking at that again, it looks like its for raised beds, it has a short handle and the head is a lot lighter than the ones on the main page

What I didn't like is they mix imperial measurements with metric weights, and they use grams, instead of Kilos (like 1.4kg)

Thanks all

I really fail to see why that should be a problem.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Its a mix you use one or the other why use both? its just confusing people, some old people (and people with no or not much schooling) will get confused when you say 935 grams, like no one I know would say that, in that way

I'm not talking about the mix of imperial measurement and metric weight, I'm talking about you complaining about the use of grams instead of kilograms.

Both are acceptable and it's not that difficult to say that 935 grams = 0.935 kilos.  It is quite usual to express weight in grams when it's under a kilo.

(I'm older than you, by the way).

You may be older, but I didn't get an education, so its hard for me and other like me to understand, when he was using imperial measurements as to feet and inch, they why dint they use imperial weights as well, I dont get that

They don't normally use imperial anyway these days, you came across not quite a one off that expressed dimensions in English. You'd have been worse off if they'd expressed those in mm.

You're going to have to get used to metric, I'm afraid, I know a lot of people older than me who were never educated in the metric system, but they've picked it up - because they had to.

I have the one off ebay, the quality is more than good enough, much easier than using a spade. Why pay silly money when you don,t have to. I dug my new plot over with this when a spade and fork wouldn,t even make a dent in the ground it was that hard.
After a 3 year wait i finally have my allotment. HELP! (2/10/11)
