Frost damage!
« on: May 28, 2010, 08:05 »
A couple of weeks ago I had all my veg growing beautifully on my allotment.  I knew I had been a bit early but they were well hardened off.  Runners, French beans, courgettes, tomatoes potatoes.  All doing well.  After spending 3 hours planting out some more beans I went down next day to see they were all ok and was faced with rows of black sticks.  It was the night of the unexpected frost!  I was so upset. Could have given up altogether to be honest.  I eventually picked myself up and started again.  This week - all the dead sticks have begun shooting - even the tomatoes! Potatoes have recovered and are glossy and green again.
Now I am just worried I have twice as many veg with my new lot coming on well!  Think I will be giving them away on Freecycle!
