Took a bale of straw up the lottie to mulch with (bit ironic considering the rain we've had!) and picked some rhubarb (and gave some to neighbour!).

Disgusted by my own lethargy, I've put some cape gooseberrys and pepino seeds in, who knows 5th times a charm ?!

For once it hasn't rained today.
Took the day off so that I could meet the senior estates manager from the local council along with the rest of the Committee.  We showed her the problems we are having with drainage, security and particularly lots of derelict empty plots.  Some of these have been like it for years but we have a waiting list.  She is going to investigate.  It was good of her to come and see us in person.   A few of us also took down the barbed wire at the top of the fence that shouldn't have been there in the first place.
I planted out the last of my broad beans - Aquadulce Longpod and Crimson Flowered, and the Tender and True parsnips that I started off in loo rolls.
Gave a final dig over where the peas and beans are going to go.  Waiting for OH to erect the tall supports for the peas - the peas will go in as soon as it is ready, hopefully this weekend, weather permitting.  The peas are ready to go in now.
Deadheaded lots of dandelions on the vacant plot next door.
The flood at the bottom of the plot has gone down a bit.
Came home and potted on my green cauliflowers.

Yet more digging in the root veg plot and admiring that my first and second early spuds have started to come through
All the way from my allotment in beautiful Derbyshire. I'm in year 3 of my allotment and wish I'd caught the bug years ago, things growing from strength to strength

Did a bit of hoe-ing.

Noticed that things seem to have stopped growing - even the broad beans.

I am over-run with slugs also.

Not a sausage on Tuesday... shame as the weather was conducive to an escape to the plot but.......simply didn't have the time. :(

Went up to let the hens out this morning & found a few tables & chairs across my plot & all my empty pots blown around from last nights gales.
Got soaked clearing it all as it decided to start chucking it down

Went to the plot to take some blue water piping that I'd cut to size at the weekend . I was going to cover a raised bed but it was so cold and windy I came back home. Unfortunately can't get to the plot again until Saturday. I hope the weathers' improved by then.

Last night potted on 70 (ish) assorted flower seedlings for my 6 year old to help plant down allotment when big enough (the seedlings that is  :) ), just legged it down there in brief dry spell to pick some rhubarb and noticed something is munching my beetroot seedlings - time to invest in some slug pellets methinks!
Paul, Andrew, Kevin, Galen - My parents got bored of normal names in the end!

Went down with the best intentions until the heavens opened and i had to duck sharpish into the shed...

...it wasn't all bad as I had a kip on a bed of unopened compost bags!  :tongue2:
It can't rain all the time.

Water ski? Spent today setting up my sweetcorn (Lark) and my squashes (Hooligan, Guatemalan Blue Banana, Invincible, Festival, Buttercup, Total Eclipse, Longa Serpenta) to chit in take away containers on the fish tanks. Shame not to use the ideal temperatures!  :D

Yesterday the brief respite from rain pm allowed me to erect a new bean support. (Last year the wind did for my munty)
This morning I sowed some (chittted) sweetcorn into root trainers.

Not much chance to do anything else in the pouring rain!

Cheers HH
Keep digging

Now - that sounds a very attractive idea.
