I went down early to beat the rain got a dozen couliflowers planted hoed area and took out more stones
I have now got good stone paths around the plot.
I hit the  weeds in the paths with a blow torch hope it kills the roots.
My first row of potatoes are showing so I covered them back up.
Rain started at tea time and it still coming down as I type . Probably will be to wet today to do much but I do have some soil covered waiting to be riddled for the raised beds so I may get that done.

Went down with the best intentions until the heavens opened and i had to duck sharpish into the shed...

...it wasn't all bad as I had a kip on a bed of unopened compost bags!  :tongue2:

Now - that sounds a very attractive idea.

Peace and quiet with no one coming along to disturb you.

I'm just hoping the OH doesn't catch on to me!
It can't rain all the time.

Dodged heavy rain showers to harvest two lettuces from under cloche which is the total of my activities for the last three days due to rain.

bit of light weeding, although nothing seems to be growing too much. Not even the broad beans.

I think it is the colder weather to blame - there has been a fairly consistent chilly breeze here along with the rain.

On Thursday I stuck in another 16 shallots, a line of gladioli and charged about with a hoe.

Things are gradually taking off....... the newly germinated weeds made a wonderful green carpet in one or two places. All gone!!!  ;)

Went down to check that nothing had blown away in the high winds --- all still there, including the giant cloche thingy.

Onions now all up straight and looking good

Peas making it up onto the strings, not just languishing on the ground

Shut my plot neighbour's greenhouse door as it was banging in the wind

Ran to the car as the skies opened again

had an inspection, all onions, garlics, shallots etc standing to attention - good lads, good lads. Nothing poking out of spud rows yet, but pleased about that - don't want anything out yet to meet Mr Frost if he comes a calling...

brought back some netting to go over the reseeded patches of lawn in my back garden- rows of greedy chaffinches, blackbirds, thrushes, magpies, pigeons and doves practically duffing each other over for fence space, waiting with beady eyes for that lovely grass seed to go down! GERROF! I do love seeing them all though....  :D
small, Welsh and almost certainly bonkers, but can be tamed with Talisker, if required

went up to see if the peas or spuds are up yet and hurrah they are !! picked some more psb delicious, was going to sow some beetroot but alas the rain came down extremely heavy got soaked trying to put the bits away (wheelbarrow after getting some donated manure) and I am now contemplating getting a mini walk in green house (the plastic type at least I could have sheltered in the rain, my neighbour now has one and as we don't have any sheds (not allowed) at least if the council object I can just take it down again  :tongue2:

Last night I planted a small row of broad bean plants.
It was wonderful down there, a real fresh breeze to blow all the cobwebs away :)

My plots are at the top of the allotments and it was interesting to see how much better the ground deals with torrential rain than those further down towards the River Nene (which is flooding the water meadows). Standing pools of water on those plots. Yes, that's right, it was raining so hard I couldn't actually do anything!  :D
