Sowed 10 x4ft rows of autumn king carrots

planted 4x6 rows of climbing peas

Mowed the lawn and used the cuttings as mulch on the 5 rows of raspberries

Dug over half the potato plot and planted a row of Home Guard. row of Arran Pilot, split row of Vivaldi and Maris Peer and six asparagus crowns.
All the way from my allotment in beautiful Derbyshire. I'm in year 3 of my allotment and wish I'd caught the bug years ago, things growing from strength to strength

Replaced 8 strawberry plants.

I planted 8 of each early, mid and late varieties and all of the late died.  Everything else is fine...!!

Then watered all the fruit bushes and got to know another neighbour.  Just one more to meet now :)

Planted peas (Bijou, Golden Sweet) and onions (Elista). Plumbed water barrel to greenhouse. Mums tomorrow for sowing toms into root trainers and potting on of toms and sweet peppers.

Tuesday saw me finish transplanting the 160 Begonia Partytime plugs from Gardening Direct. Due to the number of two and three plants in many plugs, ended up with an amazing 257 plants. Not bad for £9.99 with five free packets of veg seed.

Made the first sowing of 60 runner beans in carrier bags.
I`m left handed, what`s your excuse?

Not exactly on the plot but I limewashed some of the very tatty looking stone buildings. It's ages since they were last done ..... now all sparkling and ready for climbers to be trained up them.  :)

Well, yesterday I planted about 80 sturon onion sets.

I am starting to get the hang of growing on a BIG scale on the plot. - after only growing in two small beds for the last few years.

Checked on a few things, watered a few things. My Comfrey that I grew from root ciuttings does not seem to be taking really.

There are a few broad beans from seeds poking their heads up. By this evening they will be an inch high I reckon - with all this heat!

Absolutely nothing because I'm in the desert in Tucson AZ, USA.  The holiday is great but a I am missing the digging........ ::)

Back on the 2nd with 7hr time difference jetlag and 80 seed potatoes to plant

HAHA!!! I LOVE my allotment!  at the moment I love it from a distance and the hard slog I been through getting rid of bindweed, brambles and bindweed doesn't seem so bad.

Worked on the back garden today. Started by power washing the patio, which looks great now. It hadn't been done for 3 years so it definitely needed doing.

Then dug over the herbaceous border and planted 3 dark blue delphiniums, a Doronicum, and Shasta Daisies.  Also planted sweet peas which will grow up the fencing.

In the 10 ft circular bed, which has a plum tree in the centre, I've planted 4 floribunda roses.

In the greenhouse, I've sown Autumn Broccoli and Squash Patty Pan. Also sown a tray of Lupins Pixie Delight to use in the borders.
