Only a couple. I reckon my plot's going to see a few of WG's 'Slug Pubs' next year.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

To you guys, who used it successfully, what soil have you got?
Because I read some place it did not work on clay, is that right or not?

Not tried it, but having done the math for sq feet to sq metre conversion - it's a bit cheaper!

And they reckon it will last up to nine months, still a bit steep you would need about 7 packs for a lottie if my maths is right

400 square feet = 37.161216 square metres.

My plot is about 300 square metres, so 300/37.161216 = Just over 8 packs for mine, so you're about right Richy.

That's £71.60. Then there's the other two plots!!

Can see the problem if you wanna spend a bit of  hard earn cash down your allotment. As I am going to give up drinking for a year next year. I will be spending money I would have peed up the wall down me allotment. Making all raised beds by gravel boards. Stopping the slugs and making it la delux allotment plot.
I CAME LATE TO THIS GAME, BUT IT'S IN THE BLOOD. I TRY TO BE ORGANIC BUT SORRY HAVE TO USE THE SLUG PELLETS.

I swear by the stuff... I use it when my seed spuds go in and then just use pellets on top of the soil. Very very little slug damage this year.

i did one application early on on our clay plot, just on where the spuds were, and have had no probs with slugs attacking the pots. so well worth it. I just bought one pack of Nemaslug.

It's been fantastic for me!

Applied it early May (millions of slugs in the garden), didn't see a slug until last weekend, a teeny tiny one.

So a definate 3 months clear of the little slimers, cost around £13.00,  a quid a week not bad at all.................but  to do a lotty well thats another story ain't it?

I am sure that Fekq has the right approach. Treat a small area each year where a vunerable crop is to be grown. If that is done each year following round the rotation then at least once in the rotation the ground will be slug free.

It would then be important to follow this up with appropriate cultivations in other crops to prevent the slugs from building up again.

If there is a source of slugs such as hedges, grass banks etc maybe these should be treated rather than crop areas.
