weeded the peas and beans on the other plot, that took an hour for 4 beds, then weeded the potato row and onions, weeded out a few strawberries that encroached on the weeded bits, bought them home and planted in gaps in the wheelbarrow.

Got loads done today.

Planted out swede, and squash.

Fixed shed, manured bed, strimmed grass borders, turned compost.......

Sunbathed  :D
When weeding, the best way to know if its a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull it.

If it comes out easy, it was a valuable plant !

Runner beans are out now. With back ups in the cold frame. Had awful results this year with runners not sure what went on.

Hubby has been digging dads plot, I will go up tomorrow and sort out my vertical gardening tubs as they a ready to be hung. Not planted yet but watch this space.

4 hours of general weeding and watering, it was bad around the spuds especially.  filled up a raised bed with compost which will have carrots sown.

just a quick visit today before it got too hot, dropped the daughter off for her exam, then to the plot, finished weeding the potatoes, then came home before the heat got too bad.

Haven't got there yet, you know sometimes you make a plan and it all goes wrong...... Well that's today.  ::) hubby woke up in his saturday mood so after growling at everyone and flapping around and getting nothing done. That is exactly what has been done....... NOTHING.  >:(

His man time last night was great trouble is it soon wore off. He will be sent and I mean sent up as soon as Florence goes for a nap.  she won't let him out of her sight until then.  ::)

Tonight if his grump continues I will be going up the hill, I may even take a tent.

Got to the plot early today and got loads done. Planted out 4 Patty Pan courgette plants, 2 pumkins, replaced a dozen or so runner beans that hadn't made it through the recent cold weather, planted out dwarf French beans, loads of salad bowl lettuces and weeded the pea/magetout/sugar snap beds, all while hubby was digging over a couple of beds and weeding all the paths  :)

Oh, and noticed we have our first tomatoes on one of the Orange Berry plants  :D

I am absolutely pooped now - cleared another 8 barrows worth of weeds and roots - I am beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel now! I also planted my squash, removed the cloches from the sweetcorn as the forecast is good for this week and had a general tidy up.

My French beans were looking a bit yellow on the newer leaves so I fed them some chicken manure pellets - was this the right thing to do does anyone know?

That should help. :) Or some nitrogen rich feed.

We tidied out my shed and found a mouse nest! No mice luckily :D
My chicken day today so cleaned and poop scooped.

Thanks. What is rich in nitrogen for organic growing?
