At the plot by 8.30am.  Planted out courgettes, replaced some runner beans which had succumbed to the winds, planted module sown beetroot.  Weeded the potato beds and earthed them up a bit more.  Then spent the rest of the morning talking to other plot holders. Had a really nice time.

Planted the runners out, sowed some more lettuce, radish, red lettuce. Lots of watering and some weeding.
All the way from my allotment in beautiful Derbyshire. I'm in year 3 of my allotment and wish I'd caught the bug years ago, things growing from strength to strength

Not been to the plot today, as my grandad sadly passed away this morning, but my dad asked me to keep my mum busy, so as a distraction we've been busily cleaning the new glass growhouse (2nd hand) that we collected yesterday, really pleased, it's come up a treat. O/h has secured it to the garage wall, and dug a channel in the grass for it to sit in so it's level as our garden is completely unlevel!

Spend ytd: £293.44 (setting up plot 29 has been expensive) Harvest ytd: £163.93 (as at 8/8)

70 slabs being transported up the hill for jack to lay. Each path is taking 18 slabs, dads plot is bigger than we thought. First two paths are down. This isn't even a quarter of his plot it's probably a 6th. The boys have done really well.  :D

Planted out the slow runners, the fast ones are already out.

Did away with the brassica bed and forked it over.

Bit tired after three days of clearing communal areas of rubbish into skips....

Dug over last GH border for tomatoes (thank goodness).

Watered in next nematode treatment.

Mulched potatoes with thin layer of grass clippings.

Laid more bark chips onto paths.

planted 8 tomatoes, 4 cabbage and weeded my leeks, weeded out a few strawberries which I planted at home, cut one path with a mower but resorted to shears when the mower kept jamming.

well the good news is that with almost all my crops weeded now, all thats left is the strawberry beds (and a few leeks), which reminds me I picked some of those today too, and pinched the seed pods off the tops of the rest.

I'm currently having a break in the sunshine.
Have been digging and weeding on my mate John's plot all morning until now and he's kindly let nme use his 'brassica house' basically a full size to stand up in structure covered in enviromesh type stuff! :D. Ideal! I was running out of room!
Have just dug over, chicken pelleted and limed the soil and will plant my broccoli in there this week!

Believe me that's not a lot

Hubby dashed out the door before I could even say hello dear we are back. He wants to rotavate. I am still trying to get miss Florence to believe it's sleepy time.  I was going to bore myself with emmerdale but the flamming tv ain't working, so your all stuck with me  :D

Fed up now. Hubby sent me a pic of the new bit he's just rotavated, is it normal to yearn to be up the hill gardening. I don't want to be at home getting fat, I just want to help. I am not the most patient pregnant woman ever.

Rant over, Florence is asleep at least. Maybe you just can't be a mum and a veg grower.  :(
