The new sandpit was completely ignored!

That's about right for chickens

I read the link Barley and I have gone with the treat method.  As far as I can tell reading this info and Flubenvet gumf, the main aim is to get the correct dose into the birds, so how/when they ingest this doesn't really matter.  I've divided the treated seeds into 14 portions in ratio to the numbers of birds in each group and bagged them up, so I know who is getting what.

Its a precautionary 6 month worming I am doing.  They do get to free-range, they eat bugs and grubs and they have access to areas where wild birds may have pooped out worm eggs.  They get lots of garlic, but this method has kept them fit and healthy so far, so why change it  :)

This morning was a great success and everyone gobbled down their treat seeds in no time.  No need for me to peer at the dusty residue in the feeder, wondering if that has come off pellets or is that their Flubenvet which they should have eaten, which is a plus :)

On my Omlet chicken course she suggested mixing the pwder with cooking oil then stirring it into a small quatity of pellets - then again into the 2kg. Sticks to the pellets.

I mix it with sweetcorn - because the sweetcorn has been defrosted the flubenvet sticks to it.
Staffies are softer than you think.
