Autumn bliss Raspberry - good supplier?
« on: October 30, 2009, 08:57 »
I am going to have a go at planting some autumn bliss Raspberry canes in a spare 8x8 bed.

Can anyone recommend a good supplier ?

I would like to order these today and get them in one night next week.

EDIT:  I have just seen this deal on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140346822941&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

but looking on their web site:
http://www.plantsandmoredirect.co.uk/fruits/raspberries/cat_164.html

They also sell Autumn Bliss "bare root" for £1.45 each (£36 for 25)
anyone used them ?

Am i better off getting the ones with root or will the canes be ok ?

If you have a descent nursery near you that sells bare rooted canes they will be much cheaper.  I paid pence per root for mine last year.

I agree with Aunt Sally, you can get 10  canes for as little as £4.99 at most garden centres.

The birds tend to leave the crop alone too - not like the summer crop.
