I am so so excited as we have 5 Jubilee eggs hopefully hatching this weekend and they are all going to be girls!! :bounce:

While we were away on holiday our beautiful Buff Orp died suddenly so that has been very upsetting not only for us but my mum and dad who were on chook sitting duty.

We will always miss our big orange bouncing bomb of feathers. :cry:  :cry:

They are so cute when they hatch, aren't they - make the cutest noise.  And they are really really tough too - we had some hatch on a really high shelf in a barn when I was a kid and they jumped the whole way down - bounced on the straw and ran off!  Lovely!  Good luck!

Good luck with the hatch Kim we have some eggs due to hatch Sunday too so fingers crossed all round.

So sorry about your chicken that died. can imagine how stressful for your mum. We are away this weekend, and I must admit to a lot of worry over my girls.

Exciting stuff this hatching isn't it Kim.

My eggs are in the incubator and no signs of anything yet but as soon as they do fingers crossed I am going to try to transfer the chicks to a broody. It will be nail biting for me as last time I tried  unfortunately the chicks didn't make it but thought I would give it another go.

I am so excited I am hearing things. I had a quick chance to see the eggs when broody got off for water and nothing is happening and my friend who had a Brahma sitting on 12 eggs is in the same situation................nowt appening!:roll:

My eggs have pipped well four of them have anyway.  I can hear the little chicks inside cheeping its soooooooooooo cute.  I guess I will wake up tomorrow with four little chicks at least.

How come I never tire of watching chicks hatch, it always seems like a miracle to me?

As your eggs are under a broody I guess I will have to wait until tomorrow to find out if yours have hatched yet, that is unless your off outside in the dark to look.

Broody has just been off the nest so went down to have a look and we have one pipping one crushed egg with blood on it which I have left as wasn't too sure what to do and just pray it might pull through and the other three there is no change from yesterday but fingers crossed they will start pipping later on today.
