keeping tomato seeds for next year
« on: August 08, 2010, 12:36 »
Of the many tom varieties I grew this year the best, by far in terms of flavour, were Rosada - they are the golden, cherry/plum size tomato. Simply exceptional.

Now I will grow them next year so rather than fork out for what is not a small price for their seeds, can I simply save the seeds of a couple of these tomatoes from this year ie) wash, dry thoroughly and put in a dark, cool place over winter?

Rosada is an F1 hybrid.

They are seeds from two different varieties and can only be produced by cross pollinating these two. Saved seed will show the characterisics of the grand parents, not the parent.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
