This time of the year it is more likely to be slugs.
All sorts will eat cabbage, you have them covered I suppose. But bird, rodent, etc. damage would not be simple holes.

yes they are covered with enviromesh ......... probably just created a lovely protected environment for the slugs to live !! ........ I try not to use slug pellets unless they really get me cross ha ha

Hi.. Just come back from my lottie, Spring cabbage full of holes, talking to one guy's down there, loads of wood pigeons and seagulls, He recond, they are the problem, perhaps yours? or just slugs!

must be slugs as they are under cover, have to hunt the little devils out..... I've clay soil which doesn't help
